Science of 'Accomplishment'
अधिष्ठानं तथा कर्ता करणं च पृथग्विधम्।
विविधाश्च पृथक्चेष्टा दैवं चैवात्र पञ्चमम् ।।
(श्रीमत् भगवद्गीता : १८.१४)

The above verse from the Geeta elucidates following five factors which are responsible for accomplishment of any action :-
1. अधिष्ठानम् - Correct Dhārmic resting foundation - and clarity of 'Goal'.
2. कर्ता - Right 'Doer' who is trained, having right intent, attitude, competency, strength etc.
3.करणम् - Selection of right and different 'Tools'.
4. चेष्टा - Efforts - Different, various, multiform ( in the right direction, with the right methods )
5. दैवम् - 'Divine grace or Destiny' ( Being the last in the sequence...! )
☘️
A brief poetic exposition -
Means are not as important as much as the goal ..
As long as the actions stand on dhārmic pedestal whole..
The doer ought to be competent and with right spirit..
Decorated with qualities and adorned with limitless grit..
And such doer also ought to have right tools and instruments..
Different and distinct in nature till is ensured fulfillment..
When the doer gets duly equipped, with all the factors above..
And he exerts with complete strength, to give the strongest shove..
When we see all the above factors, happily play in harmony..
The final road to accomplishment, goes through the gorge of destiny ..!

Some musings, post rumination - @28.01.23
Just sharing one of the aspect of the above verse that resonates and appeals to my mind in everyday life. I find this verse one of the most versatile and practical verses from Geeta that applies to all of us and at all times. While it speaks about five factors which play a role in deciding the outcome of an action, the best part is that it doesn't say that these five factors are 'equated uniformly'. In mathematical terms, we cannot say that each factor plays a 20% role and hence the destiny/fate/'the unknown element' would play a 20% role...! Rather, to me, this shloka verily throws light on how we can 're-write' our destiny or conquer it, or to say the least...push that 'unknown factor' to the minimum ( let's say just 1% ) and take control of the 99% ( or more...! ) which is purely in our hands.
Hindus, according to me have often misinterpreted such principles and have only focused on the last part i.e - 'दैवं चैवात्र पञ्चमम्' thus deciphering it as 'Destiny cannot be changed' and thus the outcome of our karmā depends upon our fate and thus we must surrender ourself to it..!!! It will be a gross misjudgement to decipher the shloka in this fashion as, to say the least, the entire Geeta was narrated to Arjuna on the battlefield to motivate him to fight efficiently and fiercely with an intent to win...!
So, for Hindus, whatever is their personal, social, dhārmic duty, it is only and only 'me' who is responsible for it...no social organisation, no political party, no family...absolitely nobody can replace 'My Duty'.
Following two quotes by Swami Vivekananda resonate here -
_1.The will is stronger than anything else. Everything must go down before the will, for that comes from God and God Himself; a pure and a strong will is omnipotent._
_2.The nature of the Dharmika is constant performance of action with efficiency._
Each shloka of Geeta is so multidimensional that it can throw different lights to different people and can have countless dimensions in which the same principle can be appreciated by us. So what I have shared above is just out my personal understanding and appreciation in a particular dimension.
