Sāvarkar -The First Prime Minister of India

 

( Below lines were written for a competition. The topic was - 'If Sāvarkar would have been the first Prime Minister of Bhārat..')

Bhārat the nation, with an oldest civilisation..

In the cusp of the Himālayas and the Indian Ocean..

With history dating back to times immemorial..

And culture with science of spirituality and material..

When Rāma and Krishna re-established the Dharma..

Nonetheless the violence, and some people went in trauma..

The nation who produced myriad heroes of all walks..

Warriors, Kings, Sages who delivered Devine talks..

Who mothered the Buddha, the embodiment of peace..

And the Brahmagyāni Shankara, with intellect so fierce..

Where difference in opinions was sorted out with debate..

And theists and atheists, under one roof, they stayed..

The almighty had but, some very different plans..

Aye, we were attacked by some demoniac clans..

They plundered and looted our temples and wealth..

Not all knew so well, that how should they be dealt.. 

Despite our wealth and our military prowess..

Some of our mistakes landed us in distress..

The dark clouds of slavery loomed in the sky..

Alas, we were enslaved, not all really knew why..!

Every cloud but has though, one silver outline..

Unfathomable is always, the play of the divine..

Countless brave-heart sons, and daughters of thee..

Some sacrificed their life, some fought to make her free..

The celestial power that Shivāji Maharāj manifested..

Rekindled itself through countless children who protested..

Vināyak Sāvarkar was one such, diamond in the crown..

Hard and bright as a diamond, to beat the enemy down..

With outstanding sacrifice and strategic mastermind..

He pledged to work towards making the history rewind..

The golden day did dawn in, and Bhārat got freedom..

But by paying a price, of her children's martyrdom..

He decided to take the charge, and never repeat the wrong-doings..

Not only restore the past glory but whatever were her belongings…

He united the nation for a common cause and fervour..

Instilled a sense of pride and indomitable power..

He chose the Education, carefully for the populace..

Focussed on strength, skills, character along with solace..

From Baluch to Banga, and Tibet to Rāmeshwar..

Now, the nation was restored, united and secured for sure..!

Despite the diversity in language and religion..

All are now Hindus and one mother’s children..!

Now, no-one is as poor, who cannot afford food..

A shelter to stay and education that’s good..!

With excellent relations and established trade..

We co-exist with our neighbours and no-one is afraid..

Our holy nation Bhārat, is world’s super power..!

Not only with weapons, but with also soft power..!

We thank the almighty, Sāvarkar led our free nation..

As the first Prime Minister and laid the strongest foundation..!
